- musingmikeI served in Iraq and Afghanistan. I used to want to believe that Islam could be good and they were good people, but my faith in that was lost. Islam is an enemy of world peace. As I said earlier, I am sorry to those who are peaceful, but I cannot agree with a religion where so many of it's people are ruthlessly violent and hateful. Not even Christianity which is often full of bigotry is even comparable because Christianity is not violent like it used to be way before any of us were alive. I am atheist and a former Christian and I loosely follow the path of Buddhism as a sort of guide to inner peace, but I can no longer support the existence of Islam. It is destroying this world.

GuestCollapseI am with you Mike. I am a vet of both. When we invaded Iraq, we were greeted with flowers and such. They literally lined the streets. The Bush admin forgot to realize stuff happens after an initial seizure. Then the terrorists started bombing and targeting and killing masses of innocent civilians on purpose, so reasonably, fear set in to the population. The problem with Islamic countries is that they are mostly made up of civilians with an education comparable to a US 3rd grade elementary school student. Most cannot think for themselves, and group think rules. The majority are so backwards they are still in a "Mid-Evil" mind set. They are lucky the rest of the world is not in that mind set because we would actually try and come over and..I'll just say the kid gloves would be off. They are not brave enough to stand up for themselves and or what they believe in. Akin to domesticated animals - like a house cat. They are such weak men, that they actually beat their women to feel tough. When they fight, they fight like cowards and less than men. The majority would be called boys here, not men.
